Michael Porter Jr under fire for alleged Luka Doncic shade

If you think that the rookie-on-rookie feud between Donovan Mitchell and Ben Simmons was so last year, Michael Porter Jr appears to have you covered.
The Denver Nuggets forward caused a bit of a ruckus this week by allegedly liking a comment on Instagram calling fellow rookie Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks “overrated.”

Porter’s “like” was supposedly in response to the results of an “NBA on ESPN” vote on who was most likely to win 2018-19 Rookie of the Year. Doncic was the overwhelming favorite, while Porter did not even make the list.
Dino Radoncic, who was teammates with Doncic last season on Real Madrid, caught wind of Porter’s alleged shade and fired back at him. Radoncic pointed to Doncic’s EuroLeague MVP trophy and took a shot at Porter over his health.
MVP of Euroleague can’t be overrated. A injured player who has not played 5 college games can be overrated. #Facts https://t.co/OWOzb6UUx7

Doncic was selected with the No. 3 overall pick in this year’s draft, whereas Porter, who indeed has some injury concerns, fell all the way to No. 14.
Recently, we have also seen others question whether Doncic is worth the hype, and now he has added motivation from a member of his rookie class as well.
