Obnoxious Pacers fan who went viral identified as Kathy Harrison

The loud-mouthed Indiana Pacers fan who went viral after being shown in “The Last Dance” documentary by ESPN on Sunday night has been identified, and she is embracing her fame (infamy?).

WISH-TV in Indianapolis tracked down Kathy Harrison, who is the co-owner of a car dealership called Ed Martin Nissan.

“When they showed me, I was like ‘oh my goodness. Oh dear,'” Harrison told WISH. She added that she heard from numerous friends about her appearance in the documentary.

Harrison and her husband have had seats behind the visitors’ bench at Pacers games for 44 years.

Just as the documentary showed, Harrison says she used to love trading trash talk with players.

“Michael (Jordan) was so totally cool that he would just look at me and shake his head and laugh. But Dennis Rodman and I went at it every series. He and I would go back-and-forth at each other. All in fun, it was nothing mean. He wasn’t mad, I wasn’t mad. I was just pure fun.”

Harrison said she felt like it was her responsibility to trash talk.

“We knew we had a job to do, and that was to get inside the players’ heads, because we definitely felt like we could make a difference. Back in those days, we were allowed to banter with the opposing team, and they barbed back-and-forth with us. It was so much fun.”

Pacers fans have maintained a reputation for talking trash over the years, but this still had to be a crazy experience for Harrison. And no, Harrison is not Luke Kornet’s mother.
