Paul Pierce brutally fouls Jeff Teague, tells Hawks fans he doesn’t suck (Video)

The Atlanta Hawks prevailed in what may have been a must-win Game 2 against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night, but they likely have a few bruises to show for it. We know Jeff Teague has at least one.

Late in the first half, Paul Piece took Teague out with an incredibly hard foul to prevent a fast-break opportunity.

Some have speculated that Pierce was sending Teague a message, as the Hawks point guard was the one who went underneath John Wall on Wall’s layup attempt in Game 1. There didn’t appear to be anything malicious about the play, but Wall landed awkwardly on his wrist and wound up missing Game 2 because it was swollen so badly.

Pierce was removed from the game after the foul on Teague, and Hawks fans let him hear it by chanting “Paul Pierce sucks!” Pierce could be seen shaking his head saying “No I don’t.”

Whether you agree with the foul on Teague or not, Pierce certainly does not suck. The 37-year-old has been extremely effective this postseason and appears to be drawing motivation from all the hate that is coming his way.
