Pelicans will let Anthony Davis play rest of season
The New Orleans Pelicans are not going to shut down Anthony Davis for the season despite giving consideration to the possibility.
The Pelicans announced on Thursday that they will allow Davis back into the lineup for the rest of the season. Their statement on the matter indicates they took into account the league’s stance on tanking when making their decision.

Davis demanded a trade from the team last week, but he was not dealt before Thursday’s deadline. That leaves the Pelicans with the option of trading their star over the offseason.
Davis had been out with a finger injury and was recently cleared for action. He still was held out of the team’s games on Monday and Wednesday.
Davis is one of the best players in the league and will help make the Pelicans competitive over the rest of the season. He’s averaging 29.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.7 steals per game this season.
