Charles Barkley ripped the Houston Rockets at halftime of their win over Golden State on Thursday night, and went as far as to guarantee a Warriors win at halftime.
Of course, that didn’t happen, and he’s now the subject of shots from the Rockets’ CEO.
Responding to a tweet about how Barkley never gave the Rockets any respect, the TNT analyst guaranteed the team would lose despite being ahead 55-48 at the break, saying Golden State would win by at least 10 points and characterizing Houston’s effort as “fake hustle.”

Charles Barkley: "I'm guaranteeing you the Rockets are going to lose this game, and they'll lose by 10 pts. I've seen fake hustle before."

Enter team CEO Tad Brown.
@dfbarron Charles would know, his entire rockets career was fake hustle

It’s further proof of what we all knew: there is no love lost between Barkley and the Rockets. At least on this night, Houston had the last laugh. They won on a dramatic James Harden shot to prove Barkley wrong on his prognostications, even if their own bench wasn’t as enthused as you’d expect after such a big play. And as an aside, it seems that Rockets brass was in a pretty feisty mood on Thursday night.
