Russell Westbrook gets awesome tribute video from Thunder

Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook on Thursday night returned to Oklahoma City to face the Thunder as an opponent for the first time in his career.

Westbrook, who was drafted by the Thunder organization in 2008, played his entire career — 11 seasons — for the Thunder until being traded to Houston over the summer. Upon his return, Westbrook received a great tribute video from the organization that included some of his quotes and memorable highlights as well as community work.

The 31-year-old guard was an 8-time All-Star, two-time scoring champion, and former league MVP during his time with OKC. He and Kevin Durant teamed up to help the Thunder become one of the best teams in the Western Conference the past decade, which included an NBA Finals appearance in 2012. Overall, the Thunder made nine playoff appearances in Westbrook’s 11 seasons with the team.
