Report: Sixers will gauge interest in Jahlil Okafor, Nerlens Noel
It sure sounds like The Process is coming to a swift end in Philadelphia.
According to ESPN’s Marc Stein and Chad Ford, the Philadelphia 76ers intend to shop both Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel this summer, with the team characterized as “increasingly likely” to move one of the two before the NBA Draft on June 23.
Okafor is reportedly more likely to be moved than Noel, with some of his off-court issues playing into things.
The Sixers could move Okafor or Noel for another lottery pick this season, or possibly target a veteran player in a trade.
Okafor was reportedly nearly dealt to the Celtics at the trade deadline, and one high-profile Boston fan believes the team will revisit that deal in the offseason. The Celtics can offer the No. 3 pick, which could very attractive to the Sixers. Pair that with the possibility of Ben Simmons, the planned debut of Joel Embiid, and the likely arrival of Dario Saric, and the Sixers may just be worth paying attention to next season.
