Steve Kerr: Warriors bracing for ‘incredibly difficult’ Game 4 vs. Rockets

Steve Kerr

The Golden State Warriors looked more than pleased to be home in their blowout win over the Houston Rockets on Sunday night, but Steve Kerr expects the Western Conference Finals to get a lot tougher going forward.

After his team cruised to a 126-85 win, Kerr stressed the importance of not getting complacent. While the Warriors will be at home again in Game 4 on Tuesday, they’ll be facing the same team that beat them by more than 20 points in Game 2.

The biggest reason for Golden State’s success on Sunday was the reemergence of Stephen Curry, who scored a game-high 35 points and was so fired up he ended up being scolded by his mom for some of the things he said. The Rockets seemingly did a good job of putting pressure on Curry and making him defend more in the first two games, but the two-time MVP looked a lot more comfortable in Game 3.

While Game 4 isn’t exactly a must-win for Houston, it would be tough to imagine them coming back from a 3-1 deficit. They know that and Kerr knows they know it, hence why he wants his team to be prepared for Houston’s best game.
