Naz Reid is checking off all the boxes for cult hero status.

The Minnesota Timberwolves big man Reid went viral after his team’s victory in Sunday’s Game 4 to complete the first-round series sweep over the Phoenix Suns. Reid trolled the Suns in a post to his Instagram Story. He posted a picture of the memorable “Suns in 4” guy from the 2021 playoffs holding up four fingers … only with a Timberwolves jersey Photoshopped onto him.

The “Suns in 4” guy is a fan who became famous for beating up some Denver Nuggets fans who initiated a fight against him in the stands during the Suns-Nuggets second-round series in 2021 (which the Suns indeed won in four games). In holding up four fingers and proclaiming “Suns in 4” as he was laying the beatdown, the fan quickly became an Internet legend and even drew the attention of Phoenix star Devin Booker.

Fast-forward three years though, and this time around, it was the Suns who were getting swept in four games. That was a great troll job from Reid, who was recently honored as the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year. Reid is already beloved by Timberwolves fans (some of whom have named animals after him) and added to his greatest hits collection with that post.
