Cleveland Cavaliers big man Timofey Mozgov lived in his home country of Russia and played basketball there professionally until he signed with the New York Knicks in 2010. So excuse him if he forgets to speak English every once in a while.
Before the Cavs’ win over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday, Mozgov agreed to a quick interview with Fox Sports Ohio’s Allie Clifton. He accidentally answered her first question entirely in Russian.
Clifton hardly flinched, almost as if she understood what Mozgov was saying. But when he started speaking English to answer the second question, the 7-foot-1 center realized what he had done.
Clifton played the whole thing off when asked about it on Twitter.
