Tony Parker shoots worst free throw attempt in history (Video)
San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker is one of the better free throw shooters in the NBA. In fact, he has improved significantly over the years. During his rookie season, Parker shot 67.5% from the line. He shot 84.5% last year and is over 80% again this season. That doesn’t make him immune to embarrassing moments at the charity stripe.
During the third quarter of a loss to the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night, Parker somehow got distracted while shooting a technical free throw. Either the official said something to him as he was getting ready to shoot or he realized the whistle hadn’t been blown yet. Whatever the case, the result was hilarious.
Unfortunately, the attempt didn’t count. Parker sunk the actual free throw. Had the miss counted, Parker would have dethroned that Appalachian State player for the worst free throw attempt in basketball history.
