A roughly two-foot height differential did not stop Victor Wembanyama and Muggsy Bogues from linking up at NBA All-Star festivities this weekend.
The NBA posted a wild viral video on Saturday of the San Antonio Spurs star Wembanyama meeting the retired former Charlotte Hornets guard Bogues during All-Star Saturday Night in San Francisco, Calif.
Bogues first exchanged greetings with Spurs guard Chris Paul, who is much closer in height to him. But when Bogues got to Wembanyama, the difference in size was … significantly greater.

Take a look at the incredible video.
Bogues, now 60 years old, still holds the distinction of being the shortest person to have ever played in the NBA (listed during his career at 5-foot-3). On the flip side, the 21-year-old Wembanyama, who is listed at 7-foot-3 right now, isn’t nearly the tallest player in NBA history (Mark Eaton, Ralph Sampson, Tacko Fall, Yao Ming, and one-time Bogues teammate Manute Bol are among those taller). But when standing next to Bogues (and just about anybody else in the league currently), Wembanyama might as well be.
Wembanyama, who competed in the All-Star Skills Challenge on Saturday night along with Paul (during which they were disqualified for attempting to circumvent the rules), wasn’t even born yet during Bogues’ NBA playing career. Bogues played from 1987-2001, and Wembaynama was born in 2004. But All-Star Weekend is all about the game’s past players linking up with current and future ones. This one between Bogues and Wembanyama just happened to produce a truly absurd visual (like the time that Wembanyama met another shorter player).
