Warriors’ Kevon Looney out with neuropathic condition

Kevon Looney

The Golden State Warriors are already facing an uphill battle this season, and the task may have just gotten even tougher.

The team announced on Saturday that big man Kevon Looney is out for their current roadtrip, adding that he will see specialists to evaluate a neuropathic condition, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic. Head coach Steve Kerr also said that Looney has dealt with the neuropathic issue for a couple of years and that it has led to recent hamstring issues for the 23-year-old.

Looney, who was limited to just ten minutes in Golden State’s season opener on Thursday, previously dealt with a hip injury that led to him sliding in the 2015 draft and playing in only 58 games during his first two NBA seasons.

The Warriors were already paper-thin in the frontcourt, and with this to go along with some other bad injury news they got this week, it is shaping up to be a very rough season for the defending Western Conference champions.
