Nikola Jokic received plenty of love from fans at Pepsi Center during his monster game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Jokic on Sunday continued what has been an excellent start to his season. During the Denver Nuggets’ 116-113 victory, Jokic scored 40 points on 15-of-23 shooting. He also had 10 rebounds and eight assists. While at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter, Jokic was showered with “MVP!” chants.

42 games into their season, the Nuggets are currently the top seed in the NBA’s Western Conference. Denver was a popular pick to improve after finishing last season ninth in the conference. However, there were likely few outside of Denver who thought they would be the No. 1 seed at this juncture. Jokic is a big reason why and if the Nuggets remain at (or near) the top he may have a real case to make for league MVP.
