Zach Edey worked out at the NBA Combine on Monday, and he sure left his mark.
The former Purdue star was stroking it from the outside and showing off his long-range shot. He did short shuttle drills, showed off his wingspan and vertical jump, and he even ran the 3/4-court sprint.
It was Edey’s sprint that really drew attention online. Many people who watced the 7-foot-4 center sprint down the court had jokes. Some made “Happy Gilmore” references and “The Office” references.

Edey isn’t being selected by an NBA team for his ability to run the full length of the court like an Olympic sprinter. He’s being drafted to score baskets in the paint, get rebounds, be a defensive presence in the middle, and maybe he’ll be able to develop an outside game. But the jokes about his running were too good to pass up.
