Zion Williamson could need another surgery?

When it comes to No. 1 overall draft picks, Zion Williamson could be inching closer to Greg Oden than to LeBron James.

Christian Clark of NOLA.com reported this week on the latest with the New Orleans Pelicans star Williamson’s health. Clark said that Williamson was supposed to return to practice in December but that he began experiencing soreness in his troublesome right foot. The report adds that Williamson later had an injection in the foot to promote healing but that it is possible that he could need a second surgery.

The 21-year-old Williamson has not played all year after fracturing his foot in the offseason and undergoing a subsequent procedure. He is currently rehabbing away from the Pelicans, and there had already been some signs that his rehab process was going poorly.

Clark’s report notes that nothing has been decided yet regarding a potential second surgery for Williamson. But especially for a player who is allegedly very overweight, the possibility of a second foot procedure is rather scary.
