Floyd Mayweather sent Leah Still signed boxing glove for winning fight against cancer
Floyd Mayweather doesn’t have the most sterling of reputations in the eyes of many. However, the champion boxer recently did something that would be tough to find fault with.
Leah Still, daughter of former Bengals defensive lineman Devon Still, captured the hearts of America during her battle with cancer. She was diagnosed last year and has since undergone treatments. A scan in March showed there was no active disease in her body. Since then, though, there were complications with a stem cell transplant she received and Devon took to social media to ask for prayers for his daughter.
In July, Leah received the Jimmy V Perseverance Award at the ESPYs for her courageous fight against the disease. On Wednesday, she posed with a pair of boxing gloves signed by Floyd Mayweather for winning her fight against cancer.
Devon Still posted the above photo to his Instagram account with the following caption:
“Big s/o to @floydmayweather for the package I got today! I’ve always been a fan of boxing and Leah always watches it with me. So when she was diagnosed with cancer I told her she had to win every round (like boxers- mayweather to be exact) of chemo/treatment and she would win the fight against cancer. When @floydmayweather found that out he surprised Leah with an autographed glove for winning her fight and he threw in another glove for me to auction off at my first annual Still Strong Foundation Gala! #UndefeatedInTheRing #UndefeatedAgainstCancer #BeatUpCancer #LeahStrong #StillStrongFoundation”
While Leah’s journey has certainly been a trying one, there is no shortage of people in corner supporting her. Among them is Floyd Mayweather Jr.
