Manny Pacquiao beat Brandon Rios during their Sunday morning fight in Macau by unanimous decision. For those of you who didn’t have a chance to order or catch the fight, this highlight video should sum things up.
Pac-Man landed 241 punches compared to 138 for Rios. In the highlight video, you can see Rios catch Pacquiao under the right eye with a good left hook. That shot likely is what led to Pacquiao having some swelling under his eye after the fight. Most of Rios’ hits to Pacquiao were to the body. The same was true of Pacquiao’s punches on Rios.
In the end, Rios turned out to be exactly what trainer Freddie Roach said he was — a punching bag who hits back. He may have been able to take all the punishment, but he certainly didn’t give much of it out. That’s probably because he was covering up constantly to protect himself — he admitted after the fight that Pacquiao’s speed bothered him.

In the GIF below, you can see Rios smiling after taking some shots, which was his routine the entire fight.

Smiling as if to say he wasn’t hurt didn’t impress anyone after it happened about 10 times in a row.
