Robert Guerrero calls out Floyd Mayweather after win

Robert Guerrero beat Andre Berto by unanimous decision to retain his WBC interim welterweight championship belt on Saturday in Ontario, Calif., and he called out Floyd Mayweather Jr. following his win.

“Oh yeah, definitely. Like I said, I want to fight the best. I’m looking for Floyd Mayweather next. Pretty Boy, let’s do it!” Guerrero said when asked by HBO’s Max Kellerman about a potential rematch.

Guerrero is now 31-1 and hasn’t lost since 2005.

Could he be in line for a shot at the undefeated Mayweather? Possibly.

In January, Guerrero and Canelo Alvarez were reported to be in consideration as opponents for Mayweather’s May fight that went to Miguel Cotto. Guerrero getting a shot at Floyd is dependent on whether Mayweather wants to fight. Floyd hasn’t given any indication since being released from jail about his future fight plans. He has only fought once per year since 2009.

Guerrero was likely not big enough of a name to face Floyd earlier this year, but after putting on a classic fight with Berto, he has a lot more recognition among fans. He won by a score of 116-110 on all three judges’ cards, and he left Berto with two badly battered eyes:
