Ronda Rousey not surprised by Floyd Mayweather’s low pay-per-view sales

Ronda Rousey

Maybe the beef between Ronda Rousey and Floyd Mayweather Jr. isn’t quite over.

A cameraman for TMZ caught up with Rousey at the airport and asked her about the low pay-per-view totals for Mayweather’s most recent fight. Reports say the Mayweather-Andre Berto bout only did 550,000 buys on the high end, and possibly around 400,000 on the low end.

“I’m not surprised,” Rousey said in response. “A lot of people were pissed after that Pacquiao fight. Fans aren’t dumb.”

While Rousey gives fans credit, Mayweather does not and thinks they will buy any show he’s a part of. That’s no longer the case, but it might not matter as Mayweather insists he is retiring. Mayweather still comes out like a bandit after he already generated millions of buys on his previous fights despite putting on more of a dancing show than a slugfest (which is just his style).

At least Rousey was much nicer this time and spoke matter-of-factly rather than take a shot at Floyd with a zinger like she did last time.

Oh, and for the record, Rousey’s last fight reportedly topped 900,000 pay-per-view buys. Take that, Floyd.
