With their season on the line Sunday, the Clemson Tigers got the play of a lifetime from outfielder Cam Cannarella.
Cannarella made an incredible Willy Mays-style catch to save the game in the tenth inning against Florida. The Gators had the winning run on second with two outs, and needed only a win to clinch their spot in the College World Series. Ultimately, Cannarella had other ideas.

Cannarella made that catch with his back to home plate and even leaped to make the play. If he does not catch the ball, his team’s season is over. Considering the situation, it is one of the best catches you are likely to see.
Amazingly, this was the second time in as many innings that Cannarella effectively saved Clemson. With the team down three with one out in the 9th, Cannarella blasted a game-tying home run to ultimately send the game to extra innings.

The Tigers are playing in their first super regional since 2010, and have pulled some wild trickery just to get this far. They’re quickly turning into one of the most fun teams in the field.
