Imagine playing an intense 21 innings of college baseball only for it to end with a whimper. That’s what happened on Saturday in a Division I college baseball game between Northern Colorado and St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn.
Northern Colorado beat St. Thomas on a bases-loaded, walk-off balk with two outs in the bottom of the 21st inning. Check out the anti-climactic game-ending moment below.

Some fans assumed that the pitcher must have done it on purpose to end the marathon of a game with fatigue setting in. But the contest had actually started on Friday at noon and was postponed after 10 innings due to daylight. The players were virtually playing a whole new ballgame with a day’s rest in between.
The mistake was just a brain fart that burned St. Thomas, which dropped to 6-24 in the Summit League. Northern Colorado improved to 8-29.
The contest was tied for just the eighth-longest game in Division I history. The game featured 33 strikeouts, 27 walks, and an ill-timed balk that took away all the drama.
