Eric Filia planning return to UCLA after academic issue
Eric Filia, one of the stars of UCLA’s baseball team that won the national championship in 2013 and famous for his hot girlfriend, will be returning to the Bruins in the fall following an academic issue.
Filia started 14 games as a true freshman in 2012, 63 games as a sophomore in 2013, and then he missed all of last season after undergoing shoulder surgery. He missed this season due to an academic issue, which has been described as an academic suspension.
The LA Times’ Eric Sondheimer reports that Filia is planning to return to UCLA in the fall. Filia is currently playing for the Kenosha Kingfish in the Northwoods League.
If Filia plays for UCLA next year, it will be just his third season of action in five years. From what we can tell, this will be his second year without Lauralee McIntyre, who is his very hot ex-girlfriend. Filia is considered a strong MLB draft prospect.
