Trying to hit a pitcher who throws 100 mph is already hard enough. It’s even tougher to do it off a pitcher who has a hitch in his windup like Brian Curley.
Curley, a junior right handed pitcher for the Georgia Bulldogs, tossed two scoreless innings in his team’s 7-3 win over UNCW on Saturday. He drew attention online after hitting triple digits with a hitch.
Curley lit up the radar gun throwing 100 mph despite a pause in his delivery. You can see the flame-thrower in action against UNCW.

Curley allowed just one walk and struck out three over his two scoreless innings. He spent his first two seasons at VCU and was a 16th-round pick by the Pirates last year.
Curley went 6-0 with three saves last year and posted a 2.87 ERA in 78.1 innings with 78 strikeout and 35 walks in 19 relief appearances. Thanks to his hard throwing and his hitch, he’s making a name for himself.
Curley did some tremendous work over the last few years that paid off.
