Indiana was considered by some to be a snub for the NCAA Tournament, but Archie Miller is not thinking about that.
Miller’s Hoosiers received a No. 1 seed in the NIT, which has him feeling proud and sharing a positive message with his team.
Archie Miller on the NIT: "It is an honor to earn an invitation to postseason play of any kind and our program will treat it as such. We look forward to the opportunity to be a #1 seed in the NIT and our goal is to win and take advantage of the experiences we can gain as a team."

Some teams pack it in after being disappointed to be left out of the Big Dance and wind up making an early exit in a consolation tournament. Others treat things like Miller and view the NIT as an opportunity to end the season positively, which is what it sounds like the Hoosiers will try to do.
IU went 17-15 and 8-12 in conference play. They started off the season well at 12-2, claiming non-conference wins over Marquette and Louisville. However, they lost 12 of 13 in a stretch from January-February, which is where they lose any argument towards being an NCAA Tournament team. They belong in the NIT.
