Isaac Haas shows off elbow brace designed by Purdue’s engineering students
The fruits of Purdue’s engineering department are finally being revealed.
Speaking with the media on Thursday ahead of Purdue’s Sweet Sixteen game against Texas Tech on Friday, injured big man Isaac Haas showed off the new elbow brace that was designed for him by the school’s engineering students. Nicole Auerbach of The Athletic shared some images:

The senior Haas fractured his right elbow in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament against Cal State Fullerton last week and was initially ruled out for the remainder of the tourney. He is still holding out hope for a return though, but Purdue head coach Matt Painter remains fairly pessimistic.
Matt Painter reiterates again that Isaac Haas has not been able to practice and Painter does not expect him to play in the Sweet 16. “Until he can practice, until he can shoot a right-handed free throw, until he can rebound with two hands.”

The first brace that Haas tried out did not meet NCAA standards, so hopefully the brightest Boilermaker minds were able to come through for him here (even if he still may be doubtful to play either way).
