Kevin Stallings explains why he roasted Louisville heckler
Kevin Stallings roasted a Louisville heckler during Tuesday’s loss to the Cardinals, and he said he did it in defense of his players.
Stallings’ Pitt Panthers got creamed by the Cardinals 77-51. During the game, Stallings was heard by reporters roasting a heckler.
Not sure if he was getting into it with a fan or what was going on but Kevin Stallings just yelled out “At least we don’t play our players 100 thousand dollars.” WHAS11

That was a reference to the FBI allegation that Louisville paid $100,000 to get recruit Brian Bowen, something the FBI later cleared. The allegation was the final straw that led to the ouster of Rick Pitino and AD Tom Jurich.
In his postgame news conference, Stallings acknowledged he probably shouldn’t have said what he said.

Stallings’ comment was probably the product of frustration for a guy whose team is a shaky 8-7.
