Fan in LeBron James uniform tried, failed to enter NCAA basketball game
A fan tried to channel his inner LeBron James a bit too hard on Saturday during an NCAA men’s basketball game.
IUPUI lost 73-67 against Lindenwood at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, Ind. The score stayed close throughout the contest. But the most interesting part of the game came with just 1:21 left in the second half and had nothing to do with the on-court action.
IUPUI guard Jlynn Counter was shooting two free throws as his team trailed 71-64. But before he could let his first one fly, a fan wearing a full LeBron James Miami Heat uniform tried to check in at the scorer’s table.

Kudos to the fan for trying to check in with officials rather than simply storming the court. The man knows his basketball etiquette.
The scene might have actually impacted the game in some way. Counter, who converted on his first 10 free throws of the night, split the pair after the James fan halted play.
Counter finished with a team-high 23 points and went 13/14 from the free throw line. His lone miss from the stripe was immediately following the LeBron fan’s hardwood invasion.
IUPUI dropped to 3-9 on Saturday following their fifth-straight loss. Perhaps the home team would have had better luck had they allowed the James fan to actually check in to the ballgame.
