Texas coach berates UCF players for ‘classless’ move
Texas head coach Rodney Terry was seen fuming on Wednesday after his team’s 77-71 loss to UCF at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
After the final buzzer sounded, UCF players gathered around and did the infamous “Horns Down” taunt as the two sides walked up for postgame handshakes. The “Horns Down” gesture is the reverse of Texas’ “Hook ’em Horns” celebration.

Coach Terry was not happy about the scene. The 55-year-old head coach berated the UCF players for their “classless” gesture.
“That’s classless! That’s classless! Don’t do that s–t! That’s classless!” shouted Terry repeatedly.

The Texas coach echoed the same sentiments toward the UCF players’ “Horns Down” gestures after the game.
“You don’t get into the handshake line and have about 6 or 7 guys putting the Horns Down. We don’t do that because when you do those kinds of things, it looks very classless,” said Terry.

The Longhorns blew a 16-point advantage over the Knights to lose consecutive games for the first time this season. The defeat was also Texas’ third over their last four games.
Texas supporters have long detested the “Horns Down” gesture for being a disrespectful taunt against their school. NCAA conferences have cracked down on the use of the gesture over the years, but it hasn’t completely stopped opponents from using it.
