Thad Matta may be ready to return to coaching.
The former Ohio State coach was reportedly in Oxford to meet with Ole Miss officials on Friday, according to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, and he is interested in the position.
Matta’s health — a major factor in his departure from Ohio State — has reportedly improved, and he is said to be feeling “rejuvenated” after the year off.
“He wouldn’t take any job, but he’d possibly consider coming back for the right one,” the source said.
Matta abruptly departed Ohio State in June in a surprising coaching change, though it was clear even then that he wasn’t necessarily done coaching. It certainly sounds like he’s looking for the right opportunity to get back in the game.
