This is obviously a bad look for a player who is considered to be one of the top prospects in the 2017 NFL Draft class. Williams recorded 10.5 sacks with the Crimson Tide last year and has 1.5 sacks, three quarterback hurries, six tackles and a forced fumble this season. He has been ranked in the top 10 of many NFL mock drafts, with some analysts predicting he could be one of the first three players taken.
As we have learned with recent similar incidents, Nick Saban will likely wait until the legal process pans out to decide if he should take disciplinary action against Williams. Two Alabama players who were riding around in a car with guns and drugs back in May ended up having their charges dropped, and Saban went off on Paul Finebaum in defending them. You can watch that exchange here.
