Heisman Trophy hopeful Ashton Jeanty provided a scare during his team’s game against Wyoming.
The Boise State star running back Jeanty was forced to exit Saturday’s game in the third quarter because of an apparent lower-body injury. Jeanty got sandwiched between multiple defenders on a run and was rolling over on the ground in pain. He was eventually able to stand up and walk over gingerly to the sidelines but ended up going into the medical tent.

Jeanty would miss roughly a quarter’s worth of action (spanning two offensive drives by Boise State) before returning to the game in the fourth quarter. But Boise State head coach Spencer Danielson acknowledged during an in-game interview that Jeanty was “banged up.”

The junior Jeanty had 116 yards and a touchdown at the time that he left the game (putting him over 2,000 rushing yards for the season). He is seen as one of the favorites to win the Heisman this year and has recently been doing some fitting celebrations as a result.
