Bill Belichick has not tried to hide the fact that his girlfriend Jordon Hudson has an active role in his professional life, but it sounds like we might be seeing less of her around the North Carolina football team going forward.
Hudson has been operating as somewhat of a public relations manager for Belichick in recent months. We saw that with the way the 24-year-old awkwardly interrupted the coach’s recent CBS interview. Hudson was also spotted on the UNC practice field last month was said to be advising the school’s media team.
According to Pablo Torre, some of that is about to stop. The former ESPN host said on the latest episode of his podcast that he was told by two sources that Hudson is no longer allowed at UNC’s football facility.
“Two sources at the University of North Carolina tell me that there has been a decision that was made last week by the higher-ups in the athletic department that had hired Bill Belichick to be the highest-paid public employee — not just coach — in the state of North Carolina at $10 million per year. That decision was that Jordon Hudson is no longer allowed in the football building,” Torre said. “She is not allowed on the football field. Quote: ‘Don’t think you’ll be hearing much from Jordon moving forward.'”

There is probably more to that story. We highly doubt UNC officials would risk angering Belichick by telling him his girlfriend is not allowed to hang around the team. It is possible that the 73-year-old coach came to some sort of agreement with school officials in the wake of all the negative headlines that have been generated recently.
Throughout his legendary career with the New England Patriots, Belichick was known for despising distractions. That same coach recently felt the need to issue a statement defending his relationship with a woman who is young enough to be his granddaughter. Maybe Belichick realizes that he needs to return the focus solely to football.
Belichick clearly values Hudson’s opinion. That was evident with the way he described her in the acknowledgments section of his new book. He also values winning, so it would not be a surprise if he and UNC reached some sort of compromise.
Update: UNC issued a statement addressing Torre’s report.
