Bill Belichick’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson may become less visible around the North Carolina football team going forward, but the school insists she is still welcome at the facility.
Pablo Torre shared some juicy information about Belichick’s relationship with Hudson during the latest episode of the former ESPN host’s podcast, which was published on Friday. One particularly surprising tidbit was that Hudson has been banned from UNC’s football facility.
UNC officials say that is not true. Shortly after Torre’s report went viral, the school issued a statement saying Hudson is not a UNC employee but is “welcome” to hang around Belichick and the team.
“While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities. Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University,” UNC wrote.

The statement seemed to confirm that Hudson essentially operates as Belichick’s public relations manager, which has become quite obvious in recent weeks.
Belichick’s relationship with the 24-year-old Hudson has drawn attention for numerous reasons, most notably because of the age gap between the two. Belichick is 73, so Hudson is young enough to be his granddaughter.
The spotlight on the couple became even brighter last month when Belichick sat down for an interview with Tony Dokoupil of “CBS Mornings.” Hudson sat nearby during the interview and was described by CBS’ narrator as a “constant presence.” She awkwardly interrupted at one point when Belichick was asked about how he and Hudson met (video here).
That interview generated so much attention that Belichick felt the need to issue a statement defending Hudson.
The entire dynamic between Belichick and Hudson seems totally out of character for the former New England Patriots coach. Hudson has even been spotted on the UNC practice field and is said to have advised the school’s media team on matters regarding Belichick. Those who have followed Belichick’s career are stunned by the influence Hudson seems to have over him.
With Belichick entering his first season as a college coach, it would not be a surprise if he has decided to keep Hudson away from the Tar Heels for a while. The school insists, however, that there is no ban in place.
