Report: Butch Jones being considered for Arkansas job
Arkansas is looking for a new head coach after firing Chad Morris on Sunday, and a former SEC head coach has been considered for the job, according to a report.
Steven Godfrey said on 104.5 The Zone Thursday that Jones is being considered and his name is “being tossed around by CAA.”
“Butch Jones is a guy being considered at Arkansas. It’s a name being tossed around by CAA. For a guy being “pushed", he is the only one with actual wins in the SEC.”- @38Godfrey

“CAA” is Creative Artists Agency. Jones signed with CAA agent Jimmy Sexton in 2017, so it’s unclear if this report is just agent talk or actually representative of what Arkansas is thinking.
Jones coached at Tennessee from 2013-2017. After going 5-7 in 2013, he turned the team around and they went 9-4 in both 2015 and 2016, finishing ranked in the top 25 after bowl wins both years. However, he was fired in 2017 after slipping to 4-6.
Jones improved the program at Central Michigan in three years and Cincinnati in three years and did the same with Tennessee. SEC fans will laugh at this, but Arkansas could do a lot worse.
