Cameron Ward is viewed by many as the top player available in the college football transfer portal. Several schools are competing to land him, but one school has been linked to him the most: Ohio State.

On3 Sports’ J.D. Pickell shared his predictions Wednesday for where he thinks many of the top quarterbacks will end up. Pickell predicted that Ward will end up at Ohio State.

Additionally, Ohio State has been in contact with Ward, according to 247 Sports’ Chris Hummer. The Buckeyes reportedly have shown interest in Ward and Duke transfer Riley Leonard.

On3’s Pete Nakos previously reported that Florida State, Miami, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, Washington, Wisconsin and USC were all schools to watch for Ward.

The Buckeyes are in the market for a new quarterback after Kyle McCord entered the transfer portal. Ohio State is 11-1 this season, with their lone loss coming to rival Michigan.

Ward is coming off an excellent season with Washington State, which finished 5-7 and is not bowl eligible. Ward passed for 3,732 yards, 25 touchdowns and 7 interceptions this season. He also rushed for 8 touchdowns. Ward began his college career at Incarnate Word in Texas but spent the last two seasons playing for the Cougars in Pullman.

Wherever he ends up, Ward will likely be making several million dollars in NIL money.
