Carson Beck is older than some NFL quarterbacks who have seen action in the 2025 NFL season, but one thing he shares in common with them is that he doesn’t have to stress much about undergraduate studies anymore.
At least one reporter during Saturday’s National Championship game Media Day learned about that.
Asked whether he attended a class on Friday, the 23-year-old Beck had to remind everyone that he had already graduated before he even came over to play quarterback for the Hurricanes.
“No class. I graduated two years ago, Beck said during a press conference, as seen in a video shared by “The Next Round.”
Beck is still doing academics, but the pursuit of higher knowledge through postgraduate education isn’t his top priority.
“Obviously, I’ve been working towards other degrees now that I’ve gotten to Miami, but these programs take a little longer than just a year to finish,” added Beck, who won two national titles with the Georgia Bulldogs as a backup before transferring to Miami and becoming the man under center.
“Obviously, I’m not enrolling again next semester. So I’ll be done after this season.”
Beck is hoping that he finishes his tenure in Miami as a winner, and he could accomplish that on Monday, as the No. 10-seed Hurricanes take on the No. 1-seed Indiana Hoosiers of Curt Cignetti in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.
