Could Chase Young return to Ohio State? The answer isn’t a no yet.
A TMZ Sports photographer asked Young if he intended to return to school in 2020, and his reply raised some eyebrows.
“That’s the plan,” Young replied.
How much faith can you put in this? Not a lot. Young was chatting with a photographer on the street. It’s not remotely close to an official statement, and with the College Football Playoff coming up, Young probably hasn’t given the NFL Draft a whole lot of thought. Besides, even if there are no further NCAA compliance issues, do you really think he wants to even risk going through something like he did this year a second time?
Young had 16.5 sacks this year and is a Heisman Trophy finalist. He’s likely to be one of the top picks in the draft, which he’ll almost certainly enter once he sits down and thinks about it.
