Report: Geoff Collins is leading candidate for Georgia Tech job
Temple continues to be a hot ground for budding head coaches.
Current Temple Owls head coach Geoff Collins is the leading candidate for the Georgia Tech job, according to Yahoo’s Pete Thamel.
Source: Temple's Geoff Collins has emerged as the leading candidate at Georgia Tech. No offer has been made yet. But he was in Atlanta on Thursday, met with Tech officials and they've indicated he's the favorite. A deal could happen as soon as tonight.

Georgia Tech is looking for a new coach after Paul Johnson announced his plans to retire.
Collins has gone 15-10 over two seasons at Temple. He took over for Matt Rhule, under whom the Owls had consecutive 10-4 seasons.
If Collins makes the jump to Georgia Tech, he would be the fourth straight Temple head coach to enjoy success with the Owls and move up to a power-5 program. Al Golden (Miami), Steve Addazio (Boston College) and Rhule (Baylor) all did the same. Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt reportedly interviewed for the Georgia Tech job and was previously described as a favorite.
