Hugh Freeze signs extension with Ole Miss
Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze has signed an extension that will reportedly keep him with the Rebels for at least the next four years. According to Hugh Kellenberger of The Clarion-Ledger, Freeze’s new contract will pay him roughly $4 million annually.
Freeze and Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork confirmed the news with tweets on Tuesday morning.

Freeze has been negotiating with Ole Miss for weeks, but a recent report indicated that he had been offered somewhere in the range of $4.2 million to $4.3 million to be the next coach at Florida. It’s unclear if that offer actually ever existed and/or if it inspired Ole Miss to move quickly.
The Rebels currently have a record of 9-3, which is their best record since Eli Manning’s senior year in 2003. They handed Alabama their only loss of the 2014 season and have been ranked as high as No. 3 nationally.
