Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields had an injury scare late in the Buckeyes’ game against Penn State on Saturday.
The Buckeyes were up 28-17 with 2:23 left and had a 4th-and-5 in Penn State territory. Fields was under pressure and moved to his left. He was tackled, lost the ball and fell on it. Lamont Wade appeared to land on Fields’ left ankle while making the tackle.

Fields was down and received attention from a trainer. He eventually got to his feet and jogged off the field, though he wasn’t moving his best.
“I think he’s fine. He’s a tough kid, took a tough shot there. Not what we wanted, but he’s a tough kid,” Ryan Day said of Fields after the game.
Fields having an ankle injury would be awful news for Ohio State entering next week’s game at Michigan. Ohio State is looking to remain undefeated before heading to the Big Ten Championship Game.
