Did Justin Fields take shot at Tate Martell with ‘swing and miss’ tweet?
Justin Fields appeared to take a jab at Tate Martell with a tweet he sent this week.
Fields, who is the quarterback at Ohio State, sent a tweet showing off his golf swing. He said at the end of his tweet “at least I didn’t swing and miss”.

Most wouldn’t think anything of the tweet, but there may be more to it than meets the eye.
The tweet has the exact same words sent by former Ohio State quarterback Tate Martell.

At the time he sent the tweet, Martell was Ohio State’s quarterback and Fields was transferring to Ohio State from Georgia. Fields was unable to beat out Jake Fromm at Georgia, so Martell was cautioning Fields against swinging and missing a second time by getting beat out by Martell at Ohio State. Instead, Martell ended up transferring to Miami where he barely did anything last season, while Fields starred for the Buckeyes. It seems that Martell is the one who has struck out twice in college, not Fields.
