Report: Louisville may target Appalachian State coach Scott Satterfield
With their top choice out of the picture, the Louisville Cardinals are moving to other options for their new football coach.
According to Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports, the Cardinals could look toward Appalachian State coach Scott Satterfield as their next option after Purdue coach Jeff Brohm spurned his alma mater to stay where he is.
Satterfield has been very successful, posting a 50-24 record at Appalachian State. He may be a good hire, but he’s not going to be the marquee name that would liven up an apathetic fanbase.
Satterfield was linked to the North Carolina job that has since been filled by Mack Brown. He has no ties to Louisville, but it would be a significant step up from his current position in terms of prestige and resources, so it seems likely that he’d welcome any overtures.
