Jeff Brohm rejects Louisville to stay at Purdue
The Louisville Cardinals will have to move to Plan B in their coaching search.
According to various reports, Purdue coach Jeff Brohm has decided to remain in his current position, turning down Louisville in the process. Brohm confirmed the news, issuing a statement saying “the timing was not ideal” to move to Louisville, his alma mater.
After several agonizing days, Coach @JeffBrohm has decided to stay at Purdue instead of becoming the next football coach at the University of Louisville.

More from @JeffBrohm "After intense and thorough discussion, I believe it is important to finish the building process we have begun and honor the commitment I made to our football program, players and recruits. While going home was very appealing to me, the timing was not ideal"

With his ties to the school, Brohm had been Louisville’s preferred choice. He had, however, said that he intended to remain with Purdue all along, and he has stayed true to his word. It’s a big day for the Boilermakers and a significant setback for the Cardinals, who will have to move further down the list of Bobby Petrino replacements.
