LSU had a chance to turn a disappointing season around on Saturday night, but they were unable to pull off the upset against Texas A&M. The result left many Tigers mans more fed up than ever with head coach Brian Kelly.
Texas A&M came from behind to beat LSU 49-25 with a dominant second half at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. LSU led 18-14 at halftime and was outscored 35-7 over the final 30 minutes of the game.
Following their team’s latest loss to an SEC opponent, a large group of LSU fans made sure to let Kelly know how they feel about him. Chants of “fire Kelly!” could be heard on the ESPN broadcast as Kelly made his way to the locker room.

The chants actually began long before LSU lost. Many Tigers fans called for Kelly to be fired after Texas A&M jumped out to a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter.
LSU has now lost three of their last four games and is 2-3 in SEC play. All of the losses have come against nationally ranked opponents, but the Tigers were ranked No. 3 in the country a month into the season. They have since lost to Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M. They will likely fall out of the top 25 following the loss to the Aggies.
Kelly, who is one of the highest-paid coaches in college football, has not lived up to expectations at LSU. The Tigers have lost at least three games in each of his four seasons and are going to miss the College Football Playoff again, even with an expanded field.
Fans have done everything they can to turn up the pressure on LSU to fire Kelly. The 64-year-old coach has not done himself any favors with certain moments he has had outside of games, either.
LSU would owe Kelly more than $50 million the school were to fire him after the 2025 season. With the way things are going, even the massive buyout might not be enough to save Kelly’s job.
