Missouri suspended Maty Mauk from the football program indefinitely this week as they investigate a video that appears to show the Tigers quarterback snorting cocaine, but there’s a possibility the school could find that the video is fairly old.
An anonymous Mizzou teammate told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on Tuesday that the video of Mauk was taken two years ago and that the 22-year-old has since addressed his drug problem. Mauk lost his starting job last year for disciplinary reasons, and sources confirmed to the Post-Dispatch that his initial suspension was related to a failed drug test. He was initially suspended for four weeks and then banned for the remainder of the season after school officials learned of a dispute he had outside a bar in Columbia.
Mauk reportedly apologized to his teammates after the bar incident, and the player who spoke to the Post-Dispatch says Mauk “has been clean for a while” and “really turning things around.”

Mizzou receiver Keyon Dilosa defended Mauk on Twitter Tuesday. It’s unclear if Dilosa is the anonymous player who spoke with the Post-Dispatch, but he said very similar things.
That video is from 2 years ago. Everyone has made a mistake before somebody just felt like it'd be cool to ruin his life…. He's been clean

Some have called attention to Mauk’s long hair in the video, as he supposedly got it cut significantly shorter in early December. Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports reports that Mauk has been suspended twice due to substance abuse issues but has since been through a counseling program.
