Senior Day at East Lansing on Saturday was celebrated just a little differently than usual by one of Michigan State’s players.
Josh Butler, a senior cornerback from Mesquite, Texas, celebrated Senior Day by walking out with his dogs. Most players walk out with their family to be honored as they close their college career, but Butler lost his parents while he was in school. His father died in 2017 due to a heart attack, and his mother died in April because of breast cancer.
Butler adopted two dogs, Roxy and Remi, to help cope with the deaths, and they accompanied him onto the field:
Roxy and Remi are boxer and pitbull mixes.
Butler got Roxy first:
He added Remi in May.
