Montana beats North Dakota State after wild 2-point conversion
Montana beat North Dakota State 31-29 in their FCS semifinal game on Saturday at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula, Mont. thanks in large part to a wild 2-point conversion in the second overtime.
The game was tied at 23 after the first overtime and Montana got the ball first to begin the second OT.
The Grizzlies scored to go up 29-23 and then went for 2. They attempted a trick play that involved a fake handoff and then a pitch to Junior Bergen, who was previously in motion and then looked to throw the ball. Bergen’s pass was tipped and went right to Keelan White, who made the catch in the end zone to put his team up 31-23.

NDSU got the ball after that and scored a touchdown to make it 31-29. They went for 2 to try tying the game but their trick play was intercepted in the end zone to end the game.
Montana has now advanced to the FCS Championship game against South Dakota State on January 7.
