South Carolina self-reports violation of ‘impermissible iced decorations on a cookie cake’
Each year, NCAA athletic programs self-report a number of instances where they believe their team may have committed a violation of NCAA rules. Some of the self-reporting is hilarious, as South Carolina reminds us.
According to SCNow.com, the Gamecocks recently reported 22 secondary violations from Aug. 1, 2013 through last Thursday. None of the infractions were serious in nature, but one stood out above all the rest.
One infraction from last winter involved impermissible iced decorations on a cookie cakes given to prospects.
Remember when Oklahoma self-reported that some of its players ate too much pasta at a team banquet? I think this might top that.
South Carolina must have given a recruit a cake with a message on top trying to convince them to choose the Gamecocks, or something like that. The fact that it was the actual icing on the cake that represented the violation is the best part. We need a picture of said cakes and we need one now.
