It may be stating the obvious, but Urban Meyer publicly denied rumors linking him away from Ohio State.
“I am proud and honored to be the head football coach at The Ohio State University,” Meyer said in a statement given to the Columbus Dispatch, via Eye on College Football. “I have no interest whatsoever in any other position outside of my job coaching the Buckeyes.”
Meyer has been facing speculation that the Cleveland Browns may make a huge play to bring Meyer to the NFL, but the Ohio State coach felt the need to shoot down that speculation.
Meyer statement to Dispatch via school spokesman was to refute report that Browns are coming after Meyer with mega deal.

It’s mildly surprising that Meyer would feel the need to shoot this down so quickly, because not a lot of people were taking it too seriously in the first place, but this should definitely remove all doubts that Meyer is with the Buckeyes for the foreseeable future. He never has ruled out an eventual date with the NFL, however.
